Troisième miNiature

(2023)

Troisième miNiature is the adaptation for young audiences of Troisième Nature, a piece created for all audiences in 2022.

With Troisième Nature (2022), we offer the spectator a different way of looking and therefore of feeling, detached from the idea of progression and the need for identification. We are not proposing an identifiable choreographic phrasing, a specific or defined physicality, but a succession of images that leave room for chance by working on the figure of pareidolia, the spontaneous transformism of the visible that can make us see a horse in a cloud or a mountain range in patches of humidity. The aim is to break down the preconceived territorializations of the gaze, to disidentify or de-hierarchize forms so that they can say or show something other than what we are used to getting from them.

During rehearsals for the show, we realised that while the final form we were constructing was indeed aimed at an adult audience, the source material, the costumes and the very principle of pareidolia deserved to be adapted for a young audience. We’re convinced that it’s among children, those experts in the imaginary, that the kind of attention needed for this exercise comes naturally and unrestrainedly. By slightly modifying the rhythm of the piece, the sound and light scores, and by allowing more recognisable forms and intentions to emerge here and there, we have succeeded in creating a version aimed at children aged 5 and over: Troisième miNiature !
